This is almost like the 'hello, world' of the electronics community and simply involves turning a light on and off.

Arduino- Chapter 0- Unboxing
My arduino arrived today, and here it is:
I will be doing arduino series in a bunch of step by step tutorials.
My arduino kit is the Sunfounder RFID Learning Kit- http://goo.gl/Wstbqk
I actually have two of these but I will only be showing one set.
It includes:
I2C LCD1602
RFID module
RFID key ring
RFID White card
DS1302 clock module
Voice Sensor
Humiture sensor
Water level measurement module
30 X Jumper wires(male to male)
Breadboard
13 X Red LED
5 X Yellow LED
5 X Blue LED
Resistor Package(1k 10k 220R)
30 X Jumper wires(male to female)
Potentiometer
Active Buzzer
Passive Buzzer
74HC595
Infrared Receiver
LM35
Flame Sensor
2 X Tilt-switch
2 X Photoresistor
Button Switch
Remote controller
Four-digit segment display
9V Battery Buckle
RGB module
4*4 Keypad module
8*8 Dot-matrix module
Stepper motor
ULN2003 Stepper Driver
Servo
Relay module
One-digit segment display
Joystick PS2
4 X Button
Small Button
USB cable
And of course, an arduino Uno.
I am slightly annoyed at the fact that I don't have a green LED but I can use the RGB leds instead.
My next post should be in 3 days, and it will be 'Blink'

Arduino GRANDE
Ok, so I was just looking around on thingiverse, and I found this: ARDUINO GRANDE!!!
Let's just say... it's big.

LAVA R3X
Lava R3x is a humanoid robot that shuffles along the ground (similar to Alpha Rex from NXT). It is featured in the LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 Discovery Book. I made a few modifications as showing the pictures. Not hard to build or program, just time consuming. I attached a USB light to the USB port on the robot.
Completed to Exact Instructions:
I removed the moving head and arm mechanism in favour of being able to prop my iPhone behind the EV3 Brick, and used velcro zip ties (yes, they exist) to hold it in place. The infra red sensor is connected with these pieces:
I replaced the 2x4 90º angled beam at the back of the foot with a 3x5 ones. It now walks slightly better.
Completed to Exact Instructions:
“Figure 19-1. LAVA R3X walks around on two legs while moving its head and arms, and it greets you when you shake its hand.”

Explorer
This is the Explorer, featuring a rotating ultrasonic sensor, and bumper at the front. This robot's mission is to explore all around your room, house, or wherever you set it loose. It tries to "see" walls and other obstacles before running into them, and then turns its head to look left and right to determine which direction looks the best to turn. In case it does accidentally run into something, the bumper in the front triggers a touch sensor to make the robot stop and then decide which way to turn.

Brick Sort3r

Front |
Hi guys, I have found this new robot called Brick Sort3r. As the title suggests, it sorts bricks. It is probably a bit better than other sorters in that it detects whether the brick is 2X2 (small) or 2X4 (large). It can be built with a single EV3 Home edition Kit.

How It Works
- You load the bricks into the chute
- The gate at the end of the chute will close and the loading wheel will spin
- The robot will move away from the marker
- The robot will move back towards the marker and stop- the infra-red will detect the marker.
- It will move to the first colour, and display the colour on the screen (You will have to set up containers etc)
